headless: Steiberger vs. Hohner?

Hi people!

just about to buy a hohner B2 passive 4 strings bass from a guy and I've ever player a headless, so I am thinking about the convenience to go for a original Steinberg or take this opportunity. The guy asks 200€ for it and it seem well conserved, but not new.

So: The sound and the feel is much better for the original Steinberg? and the realability?

I have other basses but I want one to play on gigs with a band that sometimes play up to 3 or 4 hours for night, 3 or 4 days in a row.

thanks!

I always assume when someone says "Steinberger" they mean the L or XL versions...as opposed to the Spirit or Synapse.

Just so you're aware, a Steinberger XL2 still weighs around 8.5 lbs (4kg).
Not the lightest bass on the planet.

It balances very nicely, but it takes some time to get used to how it hangs.

From what I recall, the Hohner doesn't balance from a pivot point like the original Steinbergers did.

Now a Steinberger Spirit is much lighter, but it has a different strap system.

I have a Hohner B2ADB - the active bass and I like it as headless basses go.
Hohner headless basses and the Steinberger Spirit basses (which are the ones you'd compare it to-as they're both wood and not graphite) are very similar- both made in Korea and I think I was reading somewhere, even made in the same factory (Samick).
If you want to compare it to the more expensive Steinberger L or XL, then no comparison, the Steinberger wins out easily but those higher end Steinbergers are pretty pricey.
Also one thing I can highly recommend if you pick up the Hohner is picking up an adapter. This will enable you to use regular bass strings instead of relying on double ball strings.
they're just like this:
