I use the headphone-out of my modified Peavey Microbass practice amp. Modified as in I removed the logo badge.

The cafe Walter is certainly a top notch unit, but you cant walk around with it, never mind actually getting one (unless you sell yours...)
As of January 2015, the HA-1A is no longer being manufactured. I’m hard at work designing the HA-2, which will be similar in function but somewhat smaller in size and will use an internal rechargeable battery.

I just checked out that thread, and your amp looks great. Would you be okay with sharing the schematic or layout? Thanks!
Thanks, the light in that bar is pretty forgiving (or I should say was as it has been closed), not far off the atmosphere of the Cantina in Star Wars (and just as rough). The amp is about 10 years or so old; there are a few marks and scuffs on it
As I am looking at going commercial with this and putting it into a stompbox configuration I am somewhat reluctant to hand out the schematic. I will PM you.
I've been using the Rolls PM351. It is small, runs off a one spot, works great, sounds amazing, and is $80. It can also be used as a hardwired IEM solution (it's intended purpose). Prior to this I used a small Mackie mixer 402VLZ3, and then a 3 Leaf Enabler. I have my eyes on the the new OmniCabSim Deluxe and will probably pull the trigger once I can afford to since I'm looking for an affordable cab sim anyways.
