From what I've read he had pneumonia and took some medicines that combined really badly. Not necessarily a suicide.
I hope that's true.
RIP, dude.

That seems to be true. He was interviewed by the New York Times a couple of months ago, and he mentioned taking sleeping pills.I was watching CNN and they were interviewing an entertainment journalist who knew him well. He was speculating that this may have been accidental. Apparently Mr. Ledger had a hard time sleeping for some time now and took many sleeping aids like Lunestra and such. This guy thinks that maybe he was trying to get some sleep and took too many pills. We'll never really know what happened.
NYTimes said:It is a physically and mentally draining role his Joker is a psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy he said cheerfully and, as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much.
Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night, he said. I couldnt stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going. One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing.

I know, and I didn't agree with that. Takes away from the continuity of the movies.

RIP Heath.
Don't know if it made it to the US, but "Two Hands" is one of my favourite Aussie movies - I think it may have been what made US film makers sit up and take notice of Heath Ledger. Take a look if you can.
Most Aussies are pretty proud when one of their own makes it in Hollywood. Its a pretty sad day.

+1, he was good in that one.
Shocking news really. I didn't realise he was only 28, I thought he was in his early 30's. Puts life in perspective.
I amazes me how many of the stars who basically can buy any thing they want, and can get any babe they want, end up giving up on life. Especially while many of the rest of us run around trying to make enough money to buy anything we want and get any babe we want. Might prove there's something more.![]()
sad that he died....
but as for broke-back mountain SICK!![]()

Drugs. Good Lord, what idiocy.
I wonder if Heath knew this time yesterday he would be dead shortly.
Man, this is crazy! I was never really much of a fan, but damn!
