You forgot to factor in the isolated concrete slab to mount the turntable to.

A customer of a shop I once worked for actually did this. And then when we ran out of ideas for his living room system we started on the outdoor one. The obvious first step was to fabricate an island with a moat, but DIY is always more fun, so he bought a full sized earth mover, naturally. Good times, or sumthin'.

I'm rethinking this deal. I'm told the speakers selected are suitable for a childrens play room or maids quarters.. no more.

It's been suggested that I move up to speakers in this range or better.

They sure are sexy! I can hear the fantastic sound just by looking at them!

(I might have to wait for my tax refund tho...)

Just thought i'd post a bit of info incase anybody in the UK is thinking of buying the D'addario IEC cables, as this thread is one of the first things to pop up on Google when searching reviews!

The UK (type G) version only comes in 14 guage, not 12 like the US version. You won't find this info anywhere online, as everywhere that sells it has just copied the US cable's description. Bit of a big oversight in my opinion.

However, apart from that, I love this IEC cable. The UK version is currently slashed in price on amazon to around £5, rather than £30, so i picked up a bargain. It seems very well constructed, thick, but easily wraps, and has nice bright red ends. Not much more to it!

Just look around the laser printer at work. Folks often take old computer equipment away and leave the power cords behind. Or, someone has a few stuffed in a drawer.

We had so many of these at work that the hook we'd hang them on came loose and they all hit the floor.
Guess who got to clean it all up and put up a heavier dutier hook?
It sure was nice though to have a stash of those around. I do miss the scavenger aspect of when I was working.

Exactly! Who hasn't done that lately?
Recovery step #1... Disable the remote control before it rats you out for what you did.
Recovery step #2... Reset the breaker, bring the transmitter back up.
Recovery step #3... Don't answer the phone.

Since the EU operates at 230V, there is zero benefit to 12 gauge in the EU. In reality, there’s no real benefit at 120V either, but the marketing folks need to justify their salaries.

Yeah, and how many people who think they need a 12 or 14 ga, 6 ft power cable, then plug it into a 16 ga 50 ft extension cord?
