Heavy Metal

One of the best soundtracks from the 80's. Where else would you find Sammy Hagar, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick, Devo, Donald Fagan and Stevie Nicks on the same album?

The movie is interesting too.

i will second, great movie, great south park!

in high school, i had a buddy who turned me on to the movie and the magazine. i still remember the one page comic called "the bus." that was some trippy, mind bending stuff.

here is an example:

I remember there were years and years when they were trying to get that movie out on video but couldn't. When they put the soundtrack together they forgot to include video rights in the contract with the contributing bands and the legalities tied it up forever. Glad it's out!

The magazine is great, gets foreign comics published in the US affordably. I don't think it's as great as it was in the days when it was the likes of Bilal and Moebius contributing, but to each his own.

Humorous movie. I vaguely remember seeing it many times as the "midnight movie" at a local cinema in the late 80s. Some of the segments have aged better than others.

Favorite segment:

He's nothing but a low down, double dealing, backstabbing, larcenous, perverted worm!!! Hanging's too good for him! Burning's too good for him! He should be torn into little pieces and buried alive! I will KILL HIM!!!! KILL!!!!!
