Try another one at GC first, if you find similar great tone but less weight, then bring it home and sell the heavy one. Case close.

mine is the exact same bass. Do you mind weighing yours so I have a reference?I haven't weighed my Ray34, but I'm sure it's over 10 lbs. Not sure about over 11. But it sounds like a monster and it's gorgeous. The roasted maple feels great to play, and hard slides on the E string makes a growl like there's a tiger in the room. So I cannot see myself ever letting go of it. However, I've got a nice wide strap and mostly don't have shoulder/back problems (don't ask about my knees, though) so I could certainly see someone else not keeping it. YMMV.

Would you sell an amazing bass just because of weight?
DANG. Beat me to it.It sounds good but it`s a bit heavy?
That's a shame.
You should sell it quickly and cheaply.
You know what? You sound like a nice guy, I`ll give 200$ to take it off your hands...

Get rid of it. Don't look back. IMHO, you shouldn't play anything over 9lbs.
It’s only a SBMM.I have an amazing Sterling 34 bass that plays very nice and has amazing tone. The sustain is the best I have every heard. Problem is that it weighs 11.4 lbs
I did buy a Neotech mega bass strap and it does help allot but for long playing sessions I still feel the weight after an hours or so. Would you sell an amazing bass just because of weight?
