The above will work...if you want to play in the original key, however it's actually C#/F#/G#m

We played that in my last band. I loved the song (emphasis on the -ed part of love) As a bass player it's VERY dull to play. You'll find lots of ways to spice it up with hammers and runs. I suggest you learn those before falling asleep while playing it.

You found the Skynyrd version dull to play? I find more than enough nuances in the original Skynyrd bass line to keep me occupied.

But then I'm easily impressed :D

Yea, he has some real nice transcriptions on that site. I have been transcribing into standard notation (using Music Time Deluxe) (I am pretty much anti-tab) some tunes that I play in my blues/rock band as well as some other blues and rock tunes. I then make pdf's of them. I am considering setting up an internet site where I can share them with others.

me too,i convert tab to dots by hand.....we even tried to rename the tab forum to represent dots,as dots are what seem to be asked for and received mostly but it didn't fly,tho' the margin in favor was 4-1....

This may be irrelevant since you're only trying to get the chords, but Simple Man was released on Rock Band a while back thus unleashing the original master tracks to the song. The bass-only track can be found at this location: http://www.zshare.net/audio/76821307eda37dc0/

You can hear lots of stuff unheard in the final mix. The choruses are full of octave-doubled notes and a few powerchords, then during the guitar solo the bass doubles the rhythm guitar almost note-for-note, chords and all. Pretty neat to finally hear all the nuisances.
