Back in the late '80's and early '90's I knew these two brothers that were great guitar players and they needed a bass player. I bought an $80 Hondo and had a sense of rhythm so they taught me their songs. They were some pretty basic bass lines but we had fun and gained a bit of a following, some of my favorite years. After around five years the band broke up and I just kind of quit playing.

Flash forward 25+ years and I haven't owned or touched a bass since the old days. About six months ago I was at my nephew's house and he's a talented guitar player. He had just picked up a Mexican made Fender Jazz bass and a crate bass amp. I picked up the bass and started messing around with it. An hour later I said let's go to the guitar shop. Lol. I've been playing, at least a little almost everyday since and it feels good every time. I don't have any plans of trying to get into a band or anything, I just like playing and like to just jam a little with my nephew.

I've been lurking a little while and I thought I might as well join this exceptional forum.
