I'm not from Leeds but did spend a lot of time there in the early 70s. My g.f. was a nurse at the LGI (Leeds General Infirmary), I married her in 74 and since then I have only been back a few times. I used to know every back street and short cut between Harehills Lane and the city centre but there are so many new roads now I just end up permanently lost.

My gf's dad used to be a lorry driver, he can tell you how to drive anywhere in the UK - but Leeds city centre confuses even him. I work there and it seems like they change the road layout (or add a new burger joint) every time I turn around!
