Good to find a site to learn and share wisdom. I'm an old dude with about fifty years of musical experience under my belt. The past thirty years have been dominated by guitar and bass. I took up the bass when I moved to the Carolinas in 1990 figuring that I could find a gig faster. That worked. Not a bad hack at the guitar but I have really come to love playing the bass and its place in the music.

The motivation to join this site is to learn about tone and gear. My rig is not too bad, an Ampeg B2, an Alesis compressor, Hartke 410 XL, generic 15 and a '78 P-bass modified with some EMGs. I'm a finger player, no picks and know that a lot of my tone is right there but my gear does not give me the tight punch that I am looking for to play the electric blues project that is currently occupying my time.

Thanks ahead of time. All suggestions are welcome.

Up until last week my rigs of choice were Genz Benz
A Shuttle 6.0 2x10 combo with a Genz Benz 12t under it outside. I also have a Genz Benz Contour 500 2x10 combo in my music room
At church I keep my Ibanez Promeathian 3110 Combo with a Overton 110 Ext cab.
My gigin rig is a Warwick LWA 1000 into a Acme LowB series 3 the amp is 1000 watts at 4 ohm and the cab is a 4ohn load.
At our practice space I have an Ampeg BA115 cab driven by a Behinger Bxh 300
The cab is 4ohm so the head pushes 300 watts
I have found I like the sounds of 10s the most.
BTW
I play G&L 2500s one is fretless
Rock on
Duke
