Sweet! We can't buy our tickets until tomorrow but will be doing either the 10 or 11 tour. I'll be stopping in and saying hi!

I've done the underground tour twice and thought it was pretty cool and informative, both of our guides delivered the facts in a fun way.

Pike Place can get a little busy but don't let that stop you from checking it out and discovering some place to stuff your face or just sample a little bit of everything that catches your eye... There's quite a variety.

Dunno if the guys in space suits are down there mixing, testing, and cutting the cheese at Beechers on a Sunday, but they're stuff is tasty. The small Korean counter on the north side of Pike Pl has bomb Bahn-mi and sesame balls. Veggies, fresh seafood and desserts abound across the street, as well as trinkets, smoke shop stuff, + odd odds and ends stores are located below with great views of the Sound peeking out here and there. There's also a Haunted lore tour by the wall of gum that can be fun depending on the guide.

I've got band prax in a couple hours :bassist:

Grab a slice of pizza or a meatball sandwich from The Pizza and Pasta Bar, right behind Pike Place Chowder. Let them know Mike sent you in and they'll take care of y'all.
Beecher's makes a great grilled cheese, but it'll probably be packed out Sunday and it's not that good to have to wait in that long line.
Johnson's Berry Farm will have their booth in the market Sunday, it's in the north end past the fish throwing crew. Organic jelly and jams that are great, but might pose a problem getting home if you flew here. They have a couple that are blazing hot, but taste awesome.
Storyville is good coffee, right above Corner Produce.
La Vaca is a tiny joint on 1st Avenue outside the market, just a window, but the Mexican food is tasty and the prices are great.

Seattle has been so fun!!! As my last night here in the city, I'm exhausted in such a great way! My only regret is that we didn't realize how much cool stuff is in the city and we won't be able to see it all. We were only able to see a small part of the city and got back to the hotel completely exhausted each night. Today we did the underground tour which was awesome! I love history and the history of Seattle is interesting. After the tour and meeting up with @TBird1958, we over Pike Place Market and saw some flying fish! And eat way to much food! Tomorrow, we will go to WEXP for a tour and then have to head back home.

It has been a great vacation!

Oh, just visit again so the rest of is can meet you and show you around. That seems like a pretty good plan.

Thanks for the photos and banter! We visited a few years back, and had a blast. I've been trying to talk the wife into relocating there (this Deep South weather sucks), but there's this pesky thing called "retirement" that's too far away and yet too close to ignore... :meh:

Lol, we feel the same way about Denver. We have a new saying in Colorado, " you got high, now go home." Are you all having a same issues with a huge influx of people since we'd is legal in Washington?

Ahaha, I know the feeling buddy. I don't think it's so much weed anymore, just the cash cow from having two of the three trillion dollar companies in the world calling the Seattle area it's home base. While the third (Apple) doesn't call Seattle home, they are about to embark on a major project to take up some serious space in Seattle.

So yeah, come on over and hang out for a few days like y'all did. But get on outta here. :D

Having lived in NYC more than 30 years ago, I don't mind the growth so much. The stuff that's getting torn down probably would have fallen down anyway. Or was already a parking lot and didn't require tearing down anything. The destruction of neighborhoods like where I live is another story. Good and bad coexist. I don't see much likelihood that this area will cool off any time soon. The general consensus among people whose opinions I have some respect for is that Seattle is about 10 years behind the Bay Area when it comes to growth and prices. Being a long-time local, that has good and bad aspects. There's an awful lot of pressure on people like us who have lived here for most of our lives. Even if we moved here from somewhere else. We were those people who were ruining this place then. Now we are the people carping about it.
