Hello! My name is Tony. Proud fellow bass player. Used to tour 300 days a year on the 'big club' circuit in the 70's. Did it for eight years and loved it! Great venues, all the big places in Chicago, New York, all over the Midwest. My main bass was a '67 Gibson Thunderbird IV. With my trusty '65 Jazz Bass in super rare Firemist Silver as my backup and to use on tunes where that T-Bird tone wasn't appropriate. All hard rock stuff!
Main amp was an early 70's SVT but my Acoustic 371 ended as my rock solid touring amp. Killer amp! Ended touring to start a family..... miss it!
No longer have the T-Bird but still have my Jazz... Beat but sweet! Love that bass!! Don't play out anymore, but still write and do some recording with my bud Dave and his son (who is a world class drummer) in his great studio.
67 years young and music still is my main motivating force. Also have a '56 Les Paul that I piss the neighbors off with! And an old 50 watt Marshall... with matching basketweave 4x12.
Thanks for having me as a member of the forum! Hope we can share a lot of cool stuff together! I do restorations too, and love to share pointers with friends. Do not do work for hire.....just for my love of old Fenders and Gibsons. FANTASTIC HOBBY that I'm really good at.... Thanks y,all!!!!!!
