I hear you, need to lose about 10-15-lbs.
But there's really no secret to it - decrease food intake, increase activity, that's it.
Of course, it pays to eat healthier foods, and cut back on the brewski's and such, but there's no magic bullet.
LOL!...From profile I look like this:

So yeah, workout more and eat less.
As flippant as that sounds, and ridiculous in the face of the billion dollar weight loss industry that has cropped up in this country, the bottom line is that your body is a simple machine in this regard. Take in more energy than you use and the excess is stored as fat. Burn more than you take in and your body burns its reserves.
Eat a balanced diet that's lower in calories and find any ways you can to exercise more. Take stairs, park further away and walk, ride your bike to work. And if you have the time to actually go into a gym, do some weight training.
Good luck.
Sad but true.It isn't quite as simple as that, you're body doesnt want to loose the fat stores. It'll try and get rid of that pesky inefficient muscle first, you're metabolism will slow down to try and stop the loss of energy etc.
Tho granted, if you keep active and eat properly, it won't be an issue!
