bread.
If I can hit 210 by next Thursday, I'll jump for Joy.

Send me 5 of your basses. That should be more than your targeted weight loss.
Slow but steady works, keep it up.
Some protein at breakfast is a good idea, for me, it is usually non-fat yogurt. I can usually make it to lunch without snacking.
I've lost at least 20 pounds in the past 3 months on the caveman diet.
Here are the don'ts: No grains, no potatoes, no beans, no dairy, no sugar, no additives, no vegetable oils except olive oil.
Here are the do's: Meat, fruits and vegetables (preferably fresh and raw), nuts (not peanuts, they are beans).
Basically, anything you were evolved to eat, pre-agriculture, is what your body will digest well without side-effects.
This is not necessarily a low-carb diet. You can have carbs in the form of bananas and mangos.
I haven't stopped drinking beer (and I sometimes drink a lot) and the pounds are still melting off. I cheat with the occasional dark chocolate or ice cream, and I compromise with additives in beef jerky, bacon, etc. The main thing is that cutting out the grains, sugar and potatoes removes a lot of overly-convenient calories from your diet.
Also, many people are gluten intolerant and don't realize it. If you have any auto-immune problems at all, try this diet. I had eczema and it cleared up in days.
I'll alert the folks @ the US Geolgical Survey Dept. That's sure to show up on their siesmograph (sp?) machine.![]()

why no beans? I thought that they were high in protein
It generally takes about 3 hours for the average human stomach to empty (can't seem to find references - verify for yourself!), so waiting a long time between meals might not be the best thing in terms of keeping your metabolism going strong.
I like to think of it as a fire (bonfire or in a fireplace). If you supply the fire with several small loads of wood / fuel, the fire keeps burning evenly. If you dump several large logs onto the fire, the intensity of the fire decreases until the larger logs catch, and even then, since the intensity of the fire is proportional to surface area of fuel (think logs vs. branches vs. sawdust) & as it burns from the outside to the inside of a piece of fuel, it will still be lower. I think of my stomach as the same way. In order to keep everything running along at top efficiency, I try to keep my belly loaded at the same amount vs. having fewer, larger meals.
Long story short, snacking between breakfast & lunch is not necessarily a bad thing, but can help you significantly. It depends on WHAT you snack on too - a donut vs. a salad w/ tuna.
Hope this helps.

Grains, beans, and potatoes are full of toxins (enzyme blockers and lectins), cooking destroys most of the toxins, but not all.
