More rock than funk, but funk is in their name and i could see them on a cohesive bill with most of the bands the OP mentioned:

Ok I will go somewhere that people might give me some flak for it. The first 2 Maroon 5 albums have some pretty funky rock songs. As a matter of fact they rocked quite well but things got a very disappointing direction especially after the keyboard player left.

I really have no problem with Maroon 5. Songs are pretty good, there's definitely a certain amount of funk in the recipe. I saw them at the Aspen Jazz Festival last year and was surprised at how little they depended on pre-recorded tracks. It was a very well-delivered set.

They have definitely gone the route of heavy, super-shiny production, and have eschewed grittiness almost completely, which will turn off some people. At the essence though, Maroon 5 is a decent band putting out some pretty consistent work.

I like all the artists in this list, but didn't include them on the playlist because they're not quite in that modern vein of most of the others (though I realize a few outliers have sneaked on). Might need to start a new list to be able to assemble a few of the other cool suggestions in this thread!

At the risk of seeming superficial, while his stuff has a great groove, it doesn't have the same flashy bass work this list highlights. (I know! Great bass playing can just support the song! Can't help liking the flashy stuff, too!)

I used to like this album by Psychefunkapus - didn't realize they had a second album - I mainly liked the cover of Freedom by Jimi Hendrix.

Just bought this album on vinyl and it’s probably my favorite. But they have lots of variety as far as sound goes, this album is more melodic. Mad respect for “wrong” posted above
