The Aguilar doesn't exactly fit the small and easy to transport criteria.

Size—if it is the aguilar gs112 I have used in the past, it is on the small side. Weight is not so bad, IMHO, but yeah 42 lbs. is not super light. Great sounding cabinet, IMHO.

i haven't played the rumble 112 speaker, but i do like the sound of the rubmle combo amps so that got my vote. my own rig is a gk head and 2 gk neo 112 cabs. great sound. versatile. cab is 30 lbs.

If you want to maximize volume, you want to maximize midrange/upper-midrange. Based on my experience with the Eden speakers, they'll "feel" loud because of a natural upper-midrange bump.

That said, I don't think I've ever heard that specific cab. Everything I've used has been an XLT or XST series cabinet.

No you're not going to blow it up unless you try to. Running a higher wattage amp is very common. Putting a 4 ohm load on your amp is not only for volume, but it brings out better presence and punch. I run a MarkBass LittleMark III into one cab and the difference between running it at 8 ohms and 4 ohms is very noticeable in overall performance.

Yes, this cab will put out more volume and sound better too. The cabs you selected are all lower end(although they are not bad given the price point) and the Hartke is a big step up for a few dollars more.

So, if I run the 4ohm mode and I keep the gain and volume at 12, for example, it will be save?

Should be. Main thing is to always use yours ears. Hear the speaker distorting or something doesn't sound right back down.

Anyone else have experience on this? I know a couple of you have twin cabs, do they get bassy?

If you can find one used, I would try an Epifani UL2 112.

I hear the GK Neo 112s are nice as well.

The one gripe was from one person that didn't know what they are talking about. The HyDrive 112 is 15" deep, not 12", and it has plenty of bottom end.
