Help find a cab for my Shuttle 6.0

Hi there, I got my Shuttle 6.0 and really love it. Next is to get a cab to go along. I'm looking for your experience and recommendations, what you have tried, how does it sound, issues with portability, etc...

For sure I need something loud enough to keep up with a very loud drummer and two guitarists.

Modular seems like a good option, but I don't want to sacrifice sound quality.

SWR 6X10 is what i use with mine - it is LOUD and sounds great - easier than carting 2 cabs also..

I was thinking more 2 X 12, a 4 X 10 or two 1 X 12's.

I'm using a Bergantino AE210 with mine and it's an awesome pairing. It's really loud, punchy as hell and portable. I would imagine the AE410 would be all that and more.

I am using SWR (1x15)Son of Bertha and (2x10)Goliath III, Jr with my Shuttle 6.0. Plenty loud and modular. BTW, I use my 115 before I use my 210's when I go modular.

That is in fact the cab that, to my ears, is the best match for the Shuttle.

I'm in the same boat, waiting for the big Brown to bring my Shuttle 6.0 and pondering speakers.

I also have a line on an old Birch Bag End 15. This is intriguing because it also looks cool and is cheap as well.


*Not* being full range is probably good for me as I can split the signal and run the highs
thru a bunch of guitard stuff and use the Shuttle/TBD speaker for the lows and keep it clean...

Personally, I'm not after the total modern hi-fi vibe, dunno how that fits with the OP's plans...

FWIW, I've always liked 15s...

Small and reasonably light is always nice.

I've been playing mine through an epifani ul-310 and was satisfied with it. I've found it to be a little to punchy for my taste and never really could find the sound i was searching for. I have noticed that keeping the tweeter volume down really makes the cab come alive though. I recently picked up a aguilar gs 112nt for practicing and smaller gigs and stunned by the tone. Im def looking to add another one or get a gs 212. Persoanlly love the pairing.

love the shuttle w/ the ae410. easy to dial in huge fat awesomeness. its like the EQ had the ae410 in mind. have the coin, go for it.

love the shuttle w/ the pair of gs112's. terrific sound. fat and round, and the shuttle adds a nice sparkle to the proceedings.

but i'll admit, that for some odd reason, the ag500 + gs112 stack cant quite keep up w/ a few louder drummers i've been playing with. might be apples and oranges, but 500 watts @ 4 ohms vs. 600 watts @ 4 ohms doesnt seem like it'd matter.

i actually liked the shuttle/ul310 combo. not quite as much as i do the shuttle/ae410 combo, but it had a nice airy quality that felt fast under the fingers, and had plenty of booty to boot. course, the ae410 would probably crush in terms of volume.

I've run mine through the Epi UL310 and UL410, with satisfying results. I'm liking that matchup with two GS112's...I haven't heard it, but I get the idea it'd sound awesome. I'm also a big fan of the GB Uber212 cab...although my experience with it has been limited to the ShuttleMAX 12.0.

I use mine with either my 4 ohm Eden 410XLT or my pair of Eden 8 ohm 210 cabs (one XLT and one XST). Either setup is fantastic and freakin punchy!

i know the amp is pretty sweet as the guy i got it from is the one who engineered it.

This is my favorite sound - I love the amp and that 12" cab, and I'm using it on more and more gigs. It'll even by mic'd at a recording session tomorrow.

Anyway, I think the obvious choice would be the GB 12" extension cab that mirrors the one with your combo. Worth checking out at least, especially at the price. Interestingly - or not, I'm sometimes pretty odd - I don't like the sound as much with both 12's as I do with just one.

I'm still mulling over the idea of that Uber212, or even two GS112's to run the amp @ 4-ohms, but for now I haven't had any complaints with the output (I use my Epifani stuff for the 'heavy lifting').

This topic ALWAYS brings different tastes to the party...

I use 2 of these from Avatar. Speakers might be 12" DeltaLight II 2512's (I use 12" KappaPro-12A's). Cut a couple 3" OR 4" ports in the rear, and you have portability with sound and value. Cabs are 17"x17"x15", and fit into almost any vehicle

i like the GB NeoX 212T better than my experiences with the Uber. i prefer a more modern sound. and it has a great form factor, since it is tall and narrow, you dont have to bend down to pick it up... just tilt and wheel! and if you do need to lift it, its about 55lbs.
