Help identifing and older bass?

i just sold my ampeg ba115 to a guy and noticed that he had this old bass which he said he got for free, i was extremely curious so i asked to buy it and i gave him 25 dollars for it it looks really old however i couldn't find a serial number on it or a logo on the headstock so i was wondering if anyone could help me identify my mystery bass

Im no bass expert but in a way it looks like a Fender or Squire. I had an older Squire bass and all the controls and tuners and everything are exactly the same. The bridge also looks very similar to what I had. I would still get other opinions because it's a good possibility that i'm wrong.

Its neither a Fender nor a Squier. Its probably a Japanese made Fender knock off from the early to mid seventies. It looks to be one of the better ones.

Definitely Japanese, around 1970. The body is probably plywood. The plastic control plate and the toggle switch make me think it might be an early Morris (by Moridaira). The tuners appear to be of better quality, however.

Isn't that an early Ibanez bass? I've seen a few of those and I think it's an ibanez, but then it was called cimar I think.

A lot of those better Japanese 70s basses were rebranded around the world. it reminds me of a mid 70s Cimar or Ansen bass. I've seen those rounded back Kluson clones before but i'm damned if I can remember the name of the brand as it was nearly 30 years ago.

For what it's worth Cimar was the domestic (Japan) version of Ibanez as Ibanez as a name was only used for export instruments up until I think the mid/late 80s or early 90s.

Pickups are vaguely reminiscent of those on some of the old Baldwins.

it looks like plywood. it's a long scale or short scale?
the pickups might sound pretty good, you never know.
i love old little basses. i myself have a univox hi-flyer bass copy that is currently on repair.
