Help identifying these "P-Ricks"

That's Precision-Ricks. ahem.

Josh Newton of The Damned Things in the terrific "We've Got a Situation" video as seen here:

"Linus of Hollywood" in the impressive "Scarified" video as seen here:

both have P pickups (reverse P in the 1st pic) and Linus's bass looks like it might even say "Rickenbacker" on the headstock.

what's going on here?

Here one of my p-basses. It has 2 Rickenbacker pickups in the Rickenbacker positions. The neck pickup is single coil and the bridge is a humbucker. It also has a 3 band preamp with a push/pull active passive mode.

j newton normally plays sandberg P basses. lovely tone, and from what ive heard a hell of a guy.

first act? they seem pretty eager to make anything anyone would ever want for the right price. pretty hit or miss for me. this is a hit.

and the damned things are just plain awesome. 1/3 etid, 1/3 fallout boy, 1/3 anthrax. who'd have thought?

Thanks for bringing up First Act-- I've never heard of them!

I remember going to a concert last year, and one of the opening bands was Converge. I remember pointing out to my buddy, who is new to music, that the guitars they were playing looked a lot like some crazy vintage 1960's stuff, loaded with modern electronics (EMG's, in this case).

I just learned from the website that both Kurt Balou (guitarist) and Nate Newton (bassist-- you should really check out some of his stuff!) both play custom First Act instruments!

Thanks again!
