Help keep me from eating a meal

Being really hungry makes it very easy to make poor food choices.
If you’re going to eat once a day it gotta be a really good (nutritious) meal.
I avoid going to the supermarket when I'm hungry. Being hungry in the supermarket always results in an expensive trip and eating a bunch of junk on the way home. Not good. So, I do a pre-supermarket munch that keeps me focused on what I really should be getting instead of buying a whole lot of pretty much everything that looks kinda edible.

I've been eating one meal a day for I don't know how long now. One of the rules (to help me keep my sanity) is that I don't worry about it of I have a second meal every other day. Today, I'm hungry. I want a second meal. The problem is, I had a second meal yesterday.

Lately I've been telling myself that an important part of life is making good choices. But today, that doesn't seem like enough encouragement.

What can you say to help me make a good choice?

You guys took too long. Today's victim will be a Wendy's Baconator with extra bacon.

Just read this:
"The results strongly suggest diet cycles could bring on certain shifts in the mix of bacteria in the gut that make it harder to maintain a healthy diet."
Diets, glorified in our modern time, are not good for long term health (of course, unless specificaly recommended by medical doctor as a part of therapy). Steady and diverse food intake, focused on unprocessed foods, is what you need.

I’ve adopted a 18/6 fasting/eating schedule. No snacking during the fasting hours. Only water or coffee with stevia. About 150g of protein during my 6 hour eating window. Lots of veggies. Broccoli. Cabbage. Cauliflower. Very little rice and potatoes. No fast food besides in n out a couple times a month. Pretty much no bread. Protein pasta. Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in the morning and the night.

I’ve dropped 40 lbs in 6 months. No working out. Just changing how and what I eat.
Similar. About 30lbs in 6 months doing a 16/8 split. Just water or unsweetened tea in the morning. Lunch and dinner are comprised of veggies and a protein. No alcohol sans a glass of wine once a month with an Italian meal. Next to no carbs besides protein pasta, and even then I keep the portion small. I’ve done a good job reducing my portion sizes as well.

Good job!!! Keep it up. Start adding in a 20 minute tabata workout every other day and you’ll see more weight come off each day AND your energy will begin to skyrocket after a week.
