agreed. when i first tried chromes, i thought i had made a mistake. But i left them on the bass and played them for a couple of weeks. they ended up being my favorite FW string. The key was giving them time to break in and get rid of the tacky coating that they seem to ship with.
Definitely. Chromes get slicker and thuddier as time goes on. I hate any time I have to put new ones on, but they settle in so nicely. It's like a reward for sticking to playing them when they're fresh.
