Help me identify this Ibanez bass from the 1980's?

Hello! I've had this bass since about 1988. It could be a Roadstar II Series (RS/RB)? But the head stock looks different. Or the Musician Series (MC) ?

(*Ignore the bit of white tape on the top pickup)

Look at the photos. The Headstock is a bit pointy with tuning pegs on either side. It has active pickups. Any thoughts?

(I'm actually having trouble figuring out what the knobs are ... so any information on that would also be helpful)

It looks alot like a Sound Gear (SGR), but for the headstock. Knobs on mine (if I recall correctly) are volume, balance (with a center dedent), Bass boost/cut (with a center dedent), and treble boost/cut (with a center dedent).
Are you sure it's an Ibanez?

Thanks both of you! ... I agree. After looking at some photos online, it does look like the rb800. I think one of my knobs is discennected... so that might be causing the confusion.

It looks alot like a Sound Gear (SGR), but for the headstock.

It was a kind of a bridge from the Roadstar II series to the Soundgear series, but it's still properly a Roadstar model.

Introduced by Ibanez for 1987. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.

The RB800 features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position marker, side dots and a matching headstock. Components include LO-J "low impednace" precision pickup on the neck position and LO-J "low impednace" jazz pickup on the bridge position with a 2-Band EQ active preamp, an Omni-Adjust bridge with 19mm string spacing, a graphite nut and Ibanez Smooth Tuner BII tuning machines.

The RB800 was only offered in 1987.

Looks like a Soundgear (SR) series bass though the headstock has more of a Carvin kinda feel to it.

Edit: As pointed out above, it looks like an '87 RB800.

It's an RB800. That was the headstock design until they got sued by Tune. Given the headstock and the decal placement on the body (not seen here) it was an obvious ripoff of the Bass Maniac, which was the hottest bass on the planet for about 12 minutes.
