help me identify this jazz bass

Not sure I agree with Johnk 10 regarding the color. I had a '91 Am Std Jazz bass in a very similar color, but Fender called that gunmetal blue. I saw a similar color on Fender Japan's website somewhat recently. This definitely isn't an Am Std from that timeframe, since the area around the neck pickup on this body isn't routed out.

+1. it actually could be gun metal blue. i was just going by what the color looked like on my monitor which is a bit more green than GMB, but it could just be the pics.

My phone is distorting the color a lot.

I posted a link to this for sale ad earlier on. The ad has nothing to do with my bass other than it looks the same.

The camera used in the ad reproduced the colors much better than my phone.

So whats the consensus then? Stacked knobs or 3?
And what of the year? Or should I say the RI year? 62? or later?

There is definitively a bit of green in the color.

I appreciate the suggestions John.

I really like that american and the mim block inlay neck as well. Wish it was american as well but still something to think about.

Providing the information is accurate on the one I posted about earlier it looks like mine is going to be from the mid 90's.
The "UGB" stamp matches.

My guess is whatever it is, it somehow made it out of Japan's 'non-export' market of basses.
