hey, ive been browsing through reading post and finally deciede to join. Ive been playing for almost 2 years now and im looking for a new bass...My first bass was a Ibanez SR400, not the best but its gotten the job done. Im looking to step up to a 5 string and have been looking but i was wondering what you all recommend. I mostly play rock, metal, etc. I have around $500-$700 to spend. I really like the spector bass and have thought about getting one of those. any ideas? thank you for your time.

They're alright. For metal/rock, I'd stick with Ibanez though and go with one of their fives.

Thanks guys, i like the feel of the ibanez bass and have never had any problems out of mine.

As smash said, an Ibanez BTB would probably be a great purchase for you.

Yeah, the BTBs are great for any style. You can get any tone out of them, from jazz to metal.
