Help me pick a 6 stringer :(

I was always thinking of getting a Carvin but i heard alot of reviewers say that the eletronics are bad, so that became a turn off. But if i had the money i would get a carvin 6 string and change the pups.

I've now got two carvin 6s (This morning, I bought the fretless I found used yesterday. ). I don't know what the gripe is with the pickups or the electronics. Both basses sound really good stock, and are dead quiet (although both have the stacked hums). Mine are both early 90s models, but the newer ones I have played have been good too, apart from a little more noise because they had singles.

Peavey Made In USA Axcelerator. Same pickups and preamp as the early Cirrus basses, ABM Bridge, top notch construction and playability.

Peavey's USA stuff is impressive. I hear the Cirrus goes for ridiculous prices used.

How did it change the tone? I've never had a gripe with what I've got now, but if it could be even better....

I always thought it sounded sort of weak. With the Audere, it's like thunder.

A Korean made Tune TWB goes for $600 new and about $400ish used. They sound and play great IMHO.

I just sold my Tune TWB and it is a great bass. I was just not ready for the 6 and that was the only reason to sell it.
