It's funny that you have this poll because I'm looking at the Ibanez Sr1205E and an MM Stingray/Classic.

I've played the MM Stingray/Classic and loved the neck which feels thinner (correct me if I'm wrong) than the Ibanez that I have (Sr300m).

I didn't like the sound of the SR500 as well but the Sr700 is lovely, so I can only imagine what the SR1205E sounds and feels like. I'm leaning toward the MM myself but I hope you find the right bass for you.

The single thing I dislike about the Stingray is that on 4-string models, the G string has a weaker output than the others. Awesome tone though.

If the $$ is what you want, go for it.

The SR 600/700/750 and Prestige 1000 are great basses, but the MM and 1200e are much, much better. I haven't played the $$. Warwick bodies and necks never suited me, but the build quality on the instruments I've played were flawless.

The 1200e looks amazing in person, and the Nords are brilliant. The range of tones you could get from them was amazing. I also love thin necks - This is the bass I'd personally get.

Ya I have always loved the MM tone, but I have a SUB so I don't want to drop money and the oppurtunity at a different bass if they are going to be too similar.

But thanks for the info on the SR1200e. The bass just looks so great and has everything I have been looking for. But the $$ is also fantastic, making this a hard decision.

You haven't tried the double buck but it's your fav. bass of all time? Try it out first!

+1 I know you gotta like the way your bass looks but dont go on looks alone or any ONE thing alone for that matter.

I once bought a Warwick Stage II without playing one first only to find out that I dont like the necks on Warwicks.:o I bought it used and got what I paid for it so it all worked out but what a hassle.

Warwicks are polarising instruments. Is there any reason you can't play it before you purchase it? IMO, that would be the way to go when choosing between these instruments.

If you already have a SUB, think of it as a substitute Musicman. I had a Ray35, And I didn't really feel like ponying up the cash for a real EBMM. When I A/B'd it, there wasn't much difference. I didn't notice anything that made me put down the Ray35. That said, some people on this forum HAVE. If you were looking at a Bongo/Big Al, then It'd be a different story, they are completely different. I haven't played a SUB.

Ya when I first saw the $$, it caught my eye since it looked fancy, and had HH. This was a long time ago, and my favorite bassist was Ryan Martinie (used warwicks), so I just wanted it. But I am going to try to go to GC sometime this week and see if they have a $$ or 1200e to figure it out more, just haven't had the time.

If I did get a MM, I would definitely sell the SUB (don't know how much they go for, but could definitely use it to pay for the MM). I am sure the HH is a lot different from the SUB, and I am going to try out it too. But I just wanted to know what everyone's opinion was to see if there was something that would change my mind more. But I am just surprised not as many people like the 1200e.
