So I have looked at a ton of basses and have narrowed what my next one will be to a few. My budget is 1k.
1. Ibanez SR600/700/750 - Have bartolinis in them, and they sound and look pretty nice
2. Ibanez SR1200e - Have the nordstands in them. It looks hella classy, and has active/passive switch which is nice.
3. Ibanez Prestige 1000 - Have some bartolini customs in them, and is neck-thru unlike the others.
4. MM Ray/Sterling/HH - My bass teacher had one and it sounded so great while my squier sounded like bass farts right next to his amp. But I have a SUB, so I would probably sell it.
5. Warwick $$ Corvette - Since I saw this bass, I told myself that if I ever could have it, that would be my dream bass. Warwick is my favorite bass company.

Right now I am leaning towards the SR1200e or $$, but I can't decide, they are so different that it's hard to decide. Any input would help.

You have a MM SUB now? What is the problem with it? I had a SUB and a MMSR 4 HH, I got rid of the SR 4 because the SUBs are soooo good.

Well if someone wants to trade....hahahaha. I don't really like the 2 band that much. I also feel like the rays are much more sturdy and have better sustain. I haven't played the HH models but I am guessing that the HH can get the same tones as the single pu ray plus more.

Also, no one wants to say something about the SR1200e? I personally think it may be the best on the list.

You really cant go wrong with a musicman or a warwick. If warwick is your favorite dont pass up the opportunity. I had the chance to get a fireglow rick 4003 which is my favorite bass ever. I have never seen a rick go for as cheap as this guy was selling it. I instead decided to save 300 and just get a fender mim J-bass.

I still regret not buying that bass and that was 5 years ago.

I have a SR1200 I just got. I've never owned anything by either Warwick or Musicman so I can't compare it to either of them. I can compare it to the lower end Ibbys, and it's for sure a step up above them, as well it ought to be for the higher price tag.

I'm not going to try to tell you which one to go with, just see if you can try them before you buy and make a decision based on that. It's almost impossible to make a decision based on what I or some other guy in TX likes in a bass, because your tastes will be different. Nothing wrong with that just the way it is.

If you have specific questions about the SR1200 please feel free to ask and I'll be glad to answer to the best of my ability.

If I could have voted twice I would have voted for the MM and the Warwick. Not that I don't like Ibanez, but the MMs and Warwicks I've owned were a log nicer than the SRs I've owned and played. That said if you have a favorite just take that regardless of the votes; I think you'll be happier with it in the long run.

You did no list this bass but I love the Ibanez SR 505 (it has the Bartolini's)-it plays great but I could not get the sound I wanted out of it..I saw black 4 string Stingray in a store yesterday for $999-that would be the way I would go if you can get that price...
There is a huge difference in playing an Ibanez and a Warwick-Ibanez (at least the SR series) have very thin and fast necks and are very light-and very each to play...the Warwick I owned had a very thick neck and felt it was twice the weight of the Ibanez-as much as I liked the sound-it was just too uncomfortable to play-for me...I actually got rid of that and purchased the Ibanez SR 505....I would still be playing that if it was able to get the sound I wanted...you can get a new SR 505 under $600 and a used one for around $400
I am a Stingray guy now

Keep in mind that the $$ is a bit different than other Warwicks, it is somewhat warmer sounding and less growly then the typical Corvette or Thumb, but the pickups and coil switches give it more useful tonal options then anything else up there.

You might also look in to a G&L 2000 series bass. Used American-made models can be had for 800$, and used Tributes (Korean, but same electronics and pickups) can be had for 400-500$ and it's a great sounding and playing bass, similar to the $$.

That is what I noticed. With 2 humbuckers, I expected it to have tons of growl and low end. I play tons of genres from deathxcore to jazz. So I wanted something that can cover both ends of the spectrum. The $$, although it looks like great, may not have the tone I want. But the Sr1200e has pretty much jazz pu's and I already have a jazz and jaguar. So I am a little bit hesitant.
