Zulu, were there any valuable lessons learned?
Things that you would change on the next cabinet?
For instance, where are your seams? Would you change that?
What adhesive did you use?
Were the rounded over edges a problem?
Wow looks awesome, did the second cab go easier than the first?
No, really. I was thinking lighter fluid all over it, torch it off, then hose it down before it burns the wood. Well, too late for that, but I have a hunch that acetone would take off the residue. Wear gloves and do it outside.Fire.
Or put a plant in it.
Keep away from the Coleman fuel, it has a very low flashpoint; laquer thinner has toluene which is a carcinogen.Which solvents did you try? I suggest lacquer thinner, acetone (as mentioned), white gas (Coleman fuel). I'd also try more heat (as suggested) while scraping. There are some good suggestions already. Surprising, though, how many people tell you to try what you already tried . . .![]()
Aircraft stripper is some of the nastiest stuff you can buy in a can. I don't think you can even buy it here anymore. We had it at work 30 years ago but I haven't seen any since.
