Help on getting an amp

I recently bought a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass, now i need an amp.
I have around $300 to spend on it, please give me some suggestions.

Where are you located? Are there any good stores near you? Are you willing/able to buy used gear? Are you talking about a combo amp that includes a speaker?

Used. You will get almost twice the amp for your money. $300 will get you a nice used combo amp, 1x12 or 1x15, maybe even a 2x10. 200 watts RMS or more. You should be able to gig with a smaller, quieter band with that setup. Do you live anywhere near Minnesota? If so, PM me and I'll let you know what I can sell you for $300.

I live in Florida, theres a Sam-Ash pretty close.
But I can always drive a little further for a Guitar Center.
I would definetly buy used.
And yes a combo amp with a speaker.
