Help! Stingray 5 HH Wiring Project.

Hey Guys,

I saw a thread that says there has been lots of EBMM questions about electronics, but i did some searching and couldn't find any info on this topic, so forgive me if it's out there I can't find it anywhere.

Long story short.
I have a stingray 5 HH Stealth Neck Thru that I love dearly, but I strongly prefer the sound of the Stingray 5 H, it is because my favorite setting is Coils 1 & 2 in series. The Stingray 5 HH is wired all in parallel. I took the bass into the local lutherie shop and asked them to add a switch so I could switch the sound to series or parallel on either one or both pickups, and they said it can not be done. I have a hard time believing them as a couple of my other basses have series/parallel switches on them.

FYI - I searched for a neck thru stealth single H for a long time and can't find one, so that really wasn't an option when i picked this up, they also no longer make them.

Is it possible to do this change to my current HH?
What is the best way to do it if so and keep the other switching options the most in tact?
Thanks for your help and time.
-Cory

Pickup switching on MusicMan basses are not like standart series/parallel configuration. Here is some insight:

As far as I know, there isn't a documented/ready solution for what you want. You need someone to trace the wiring in your stealth bass then figure out the mod. A similar mod is explained here:

The left bass in my avatar has this mod. Started its life as a 4HH and is now a 4H with a series/parallel/north coil/south coil/mute switch. Series option sounds amazing! I had it done professionally though by my local tech... let me see if I can find some wiring info for you.
