Between the two basses you mentioned I'd go for the Ibanez, simply because it has a 3 band eq. Personally, though, if I had $800 - $850 I would spend it on a different style of bass. Used is a great way to get alot of bass for a little money.

If you have $850, you can definitely afford a used German Warwick Corvette $$. BUY IT.

aren't you German? you should have a pretty decent market of used Warwicks up there..

look around closely in every site you find. I did that and got a German Streamer LX '97 for 450€. it was a miracle that i found that one, if you ask me, but who knows if you won't find a miracle yourself..

I'd play both of them at a music store and buy the one with the best feel. The Ibanez, however, has the advantage of a neck-thru construction. On the other hand, for $800 or less you can get yourself a mighty good secondhand bass.

Judging by TS's username, i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he's latin. I'm latin, and I don't know why, but latin people have a habit of typing with their caps on all the time. I have no idea why.

But @OP, personally, I'd go for the BTB just because i've played one and it sounds good. Although, you should really consider buying a used Warwick (a real one). I don't see what's wrong with buying used.

WARWICK hands down! Better re-sale, should you decide to sell and a more respectful instrument. I have played many Ibanez's in the past and the cheaper ones are actually better than some of their more expensive basses. I had a Prestige and got rid of it right away. Action too high and electronics sounded terrible. The neck wasn't perfect, so I couldn't get the action the way I liked it. But the other thing too, is that the sound of the Warwick sounds more woody and that is a plus!
