Help with Berklee Audition

Hey guys I have an audition for Berklee College of Music on Dec 1 and I'm going to play Birdland by Weather Report for my prepared piece. The problem is, is that the bass in the recording has to be taken out. Does anyone know how to do that? Or have any idea on what to do?

Thanks for all ya'lls help

This free, down-loadable software can make any song on your computer a bass "play-along"!
BestPractice - easy to use, slow downer/pitch shifter/looper/vocal remover/bass isolator/bass backing track maker

thanks yall that was alot of help .. so you think that, thats a good song to do for that audition? I mean i play a lot of rock stuff but i love jaco and someone referred me to that song to play. What do ya'll think? i wanna play something that sounds good but I want it to not sound plain. thats why i chose this song.

Learn something from his page, I think he still is the head of the bass dept. at Berklee.

Anything straight ahead and bebop or fast swing should get you in no problem, but then again I was there a long time ago.

To be honest they really want your cash more than worrying about you being a great player.

Work on your chart reading though, that will be pretty much what you'll be doing once you're there.

Good luck,
Dirk
