Herbie Hancock and Jaco Pastorius 1977

I have the CD of this.

That tour came to our town and I got to see this! :bassist: :hyper:

Went with one of the guitarists in the band I was in at the time.
The warm-up band was the Average White Band. A great evening of Funk and Jazz. I’ve got a photo around here somewhere of Jaco with a local bass great Nathanel Phillips of Pleasure, at that concert. In fact you couldn't turn around without bumping into one of our deep bench of local bass greats that evening. This was the first time out of three times I got to see Jaco. Miss that cat :(

A tape of Nathaniel Phillips and Jaco, or better yet a film would be something to behold!

That would be cool!
Unfortunately, they were just talking. Nate did drop by my house to try to talk me out of my 62 P bass which I declined to accept but the visit was still worth his while as he has my dad try to teach him Donna Lee while there.

:)

great stuff! WXRT was an excellent FM station back in the day. I grew up in Chicago and once I had my ears open around 11 or 12, I always had XRT and the outstanding WEAW (Triad) on the dial thru my homebuilt Heathkit receiver and JBL speakers. Great days for radio music.
