my apologies in the light of what mr. E just shed. i didn't know warwick made such dolphins (was thinking vintage neck thru) - and i didn't realize a mim jazz would cost as much overseas.
i think i was wrong once before about something here at talkbass.
still would never make that trade though.

Sell it on e-bay. If you just put a reserve price you should get what you want. Just jack up the price a little to cover your ebay listing charges. I am sure thats what everyone else does. Even if it means selling it for less than what you paid, you would still hopefully be able to use that money to buy a used MIA Jazz.
BTW i have a made in Japan Fender Geddy Lee signature jazz and I have to say that you get really good value for the price these go for. Get one pre-owned for more savings. Did i mention this bass rocks?

Eh, don't I feel like a heel. Still, though, certain moods/feelings/emotions/sacracsm/etc. are rather tough to 'read' in a person when all you have to go by are written words. I apologize for reading the wrong way.
Anyway, best of luck in the decision you make. I like that other dude's suggestion of maybe borrowing or renting a bass from someone else for your gig so that you don't rush into a deal with your Dolphin and wind up getting hosed.
And yeah, German Warwicks are much less expensive in Europe since, well, the overseas importing fees don't come into play. On the other hand, yeah, basses like Stingrays are probably overpriced overseas due to importing from the US.

I'd go back to the table, that's not a good deal for you at all . Sell the Warwick yourself for what it's worth and you can take a look around for a J bass and not neccessarily a MIM.

Congratulations on your purchase. I have to say I have never heard of the Dolphin Pro II, so like the others, my advice was based on thinking you had one of the more expensive Dolphins. Drop some Fralin pickups in that jazz and you'll be all set.I-Love-Ratm said:
