Hey guys need help ASAP identifying this P bass

A guy offered me this as a trade and I don’t think it’s original. The serial number he gave me comes up as a deluxe active pj. I’m worried it may be a fender neck on a knock off body. What do you think?

It's a parts bass for sure, don't think it's necessarily fake. Appears to have a Fender Deluxe PJ neck, Seymour Duncan pickup, high mass Fender bridge, without seeing the body without a pickguard or neck it's hard to tell what it is. If it has the hang hole it could be MIM.

Well, what does he think, it is all original with that weird "custom" neck plate?

Is he claiming he bought it new, retail, in that configuration?

Lots of red flags, might be cool but not original for sure.

We have a pretty good idea that it is a parts bass. Just how much are they asking for it?
Neck, pups and bridge are still worth something!!
