Double Bass Hey is that an OBOE?

Don't quit too fast. Just cut down the amount you play the instrument daily. You can do this. You doan want the DT's do ya?
That's solid advice. Luckily, I've already cut down significantly.

But how I regret the recklessness of my youth. I was out of control: once you got me going, I couldn't stop. It was such a rush, such a high, but I was so blind to how it was hurting those around me. "Just one more chorus, I promise! I can quit any time I want!"

The horror...

You, my man, are in a serious state of denial. You need The Big Book.
Better yet, have you ever heard of Rational Recovery?

Hi my name is Huy, I used to play accordion. I still own one actually.

Are you hiding it and playing it when nobody's around? How many times a day?
There're are some CA (Cordeen Anonymous) meetings in the Bay Area, Huy, or call Symer up in Seattle and see if he still has his cordeen hidden somewhere (I suspect he does). :eyebrow:

That's something my old friend, Pete Barbutti, who I use to work with alot has to say about the cordeen..

Truth be told, I was caught at the Cotati Cordeen festival by a Getty photographer over ten years ago. So my ugly mug with my teacher at the time is somewhere in the Getty archives. I'm glad I can't dig up that photo. :hiding:

Man, that thing pumps out polkas just by looking at it. :eyebrow:

Yes, I flat-out quit and had a horrible backlash - one entire concerto with saxophone again after no playing at all in 8 months. Cut down slowly and nicely and you'll be entirely clean. As long as you don't listen to At the jazz band ball by bixie beiderbacke and start thinking about bass sax :hiding:
