Hey Tel-Ray era Morley fans (PWB, etc)

I just found the original literature that was sent with my PWB that I purchsed used. This includes:

In Envelope 1:
(marked "Important Literature Enclosed")

1) "Power Wah Boost" instruction manual, printed on pink paper

2) Warranty Card, marked with Date of Purcasge as March 20th, 1979. Half was torn off, and assumed sent to Morley

3) 1/4 sheet size Morley Price list printed on blue paper. Price list effective 1/1/78 (Note: the PWB was listed at $139.95)

4) 3 page fold out black and white product brochure, with pics of all of their pedals made at the time. It was introducing "The New Morley EDL". On the back is a picture of a period cutie with a "Friends of Morley" list. (Impressive, to say the least, from Sabbath to Weather Report

In Envelope 2
(Post marked march 30th, 1979 and addressed to the original owner in Florida)

1) An acknowledgement letter from the National Ssles Manager Al White, Jr. acknowleding receipt of the warranty card, also offering what amounts to an extended warranty.

2) Addressed Envelope with Morley logo used to return wannaty offer

3) Extended Warranty Card, not returned.

That's it, but they're pretty cool.

I just looked it up on the Morley web site's Tel-Ray archive... "Electrostatic Delay Line"... what the heck is that?

...okay, I just read through the manual. It's some sort of delay box, in which it's turned off and on by an external footswitch. It kinda looks like a cross between a lunchbox and a crate.

I wonder what it sounded like? It seems pretty cool.

i don't know about that... but i've heard that morley's customer service is amazing. they'd probably fix it if it did break.

Tel-Ray was very fond of oilcan stuff back in the day, it seems. One of the old wah models - the Rotating Wah Volume - had a big oilcan box attached to it for the "Leslie" effect. I remember seeing one on eBay a long time ago.

my uncle used one of those! that thing was HUGE! i have pics of my uncle in the 70s playing guitar with a Crybaby, a Big Muff(i think) and this HUGE box that was the Morley Echo. i asked my dad about it, and he told me what it was and ive wanted one ever since. the only problem being that that pedal weighs 8 and a half pounds!
