Hi,
I just acquired an HH bassamp v-s of the 70s, I am impressed by the deepness of the sound. I hear reggae of the 70s through it. I run it through Aguilar SL112. It sounds better for this style than my Aguilar TH350.
To answer your question, you can use the foot switch with the amp for Valve sound on/off. I am looking for this kind of switch, seems very hard to find. Enjoy yours!

We were lucky to find a PA and amp hire business in inner west Sydney run by an English couple. They were experimenting with various amps , even making speaker cabinets. They obviously knew about the brand well before any of the general music shops. In fact HH didn't appear much in the shops for some reason.

I'm going to be the odd man out here, in that I have to say that the ones that I've used didn't impress me that much - certainly not enough for me to abandon my 200w Sound City and Hiwatt heads in favour of something easier to lug around.
To each his own.....

I was never 100% happy with any amps available at the time. Mid to late 70s , any name valve amps in Sydney , Australia , were incredibly expensive and hard to get. In fact I don't remember seeing a Marshall stack in any Sydney shops. ( Melbourne was the place probably , 12 hour drive )There were twin reverbs and 100 watt Bassmans , that's all. Any good sounding bass amps had insufficient volume. We had quad boxes and 100 watt amps daisy chained.

I had an old Aussie Eminar PA head. Had 6 6CA7 power tubes, about 150w

Sounded damn good thru a couple of EV TL606 115s

Yep - well made Strauss box - we upgraded the speakers and gigged with it for a number of years.
The HH bass cab , I think , had 2 x 15 in it. That's why the IC100 was ok as a bass amp.
I gigged with the HH cab till it fell apart.
Ah memories, I even used the IC100 with largish Fender Bassman 4 x 10 cabs. Acceptable for small to medium size gigs.

I wasn't gigging back then, but I'm wondering how is it that I never heard of this brand.
They just weren't distributed in the US very well, if at all, but were on display in albums and videos by The Buzzcocks, T-Rex, Pink Floyd, Bauhaus, Dr. Feelgood, Bebop Deluxe, and others…

I've had loads of their gear over the years. I'm a bit of a sucker for big old cabs so have bought and restored a lot of the bass cabs.

started with an HH BL412 which I got for my 18th birthday along with a Carlsbro BG90 head. Both of which I still have.

Then I had their 1x15 and 2 Horn 'W' bins and flared Horns. sold to a local music collective.

Ive had 4 of the 215s, 1 was the horizontal scoop one, 3 were the vertical ones with removable fronts (fronts all missing)

amp wise I've had and restored An IC100 which went to Hawaii of all places and a 100 watt PA head.

I'm currently in the process of trying to secure a 1x15 scoop (Bass Machine) cab. It's the last one of the 'I must have/try out' cabs of theirs which I've listed over since being a beginner.
Fingers crossed I can nab it and post Some images.
