HH bass amps!

640 mile round trip and its back home with me. It's in very good shape for its age and it doesn't need re tolexing which I'm happy about. Needs a new driver but I knew the original was dead and a name badge which I've had for 10 years 'just in case.' Thankfully this cab draws a close to my large/old bass cab chases.
I've now got all the ones I've lusted after. My cab quest is now at a close. One happy bunny.

Those plastic H&H corners and the tolex bring back the memories of my old bass quad R.I.P (she rests in pieces to be exact, that was huuuuge party).

Your cab looks like it's got a ton of thunder in there just waiting to wake up. Congratulations on the score And what driver is she getting?

It's finished! My unquenchable desire to buy and restore cabs has been sated!
I had to fabricate a new bit of plastic trim to replace a missing piece. Made with 3 profiles of black plastic and paint Matched to the existing piece at the top of the cab (first image)

I think this is the exact amp I had. My first bass amp bought from an auction. Bigger than a washing machine it seems, and heavier too....!! ;-)

My first gigging amp was the same ValveState Bassamp but in the head version with H&H 4 X 12 cab. I don't remember the amp being particularly heavy but the cab sure was. Built solid.

U.K., HH don't really have the international appeal that Peavey do but they are a similar brand, no frills but very solid, almost indestructible workhorses.
This cab was part of their Bass Machine range, specifically designed for bass guitar but they also made PA gear too so I imagine this would have been possibly developed for both lines.

My brother and I acquired IC100 heads in the late 70s in Sydney Aus. Incredible bang for the buck & versatile , hardy amps. We used them for lead & bass , and slaves with multiple cabinets.

This takes me back in a good way. As a 16 yr old spotty teen in 1976 I would take the long way home from school past an old classical instrument store which had one of these in the window! Weird......That 15" speaker changed my life. I was so impressed.

I'm in, with a pair of IC100 amps.

I aquired the HH head along with the ported 2x15 WEM cab. These two comprise the bass side of a WEM/HH biamp rig for 12 string bass.

The HH combo was purchased fairly recently as a gift for my guitar playing brother, a Wilko Johnson fan.

I managed to track down the matching head for my 1x15scoop cab. The Bass Machine 250. Not a band sounding amp.

I want a HH IC100 combo, but being in the USA its near impossible to find any. I remeber The Undertones and Buzzcocks using them

I actually saw one in Bolton, UK a few years ago. Must have been built in the 70s. Remember the neon green logo? Nearly bought it out of nostalgia. Those things were indestructible.

That wasn't my experience with H&H product. I looked after a.couple racks of them in a large church, and they were prone to overheating and the PC boards catching fire. Interestingly, the line fuses rarely popped. They must have been special perpetual fuses.

I rented an amp just like that when I was in college. Too bad I couldn't afford to buy one. I loved the sound.
