I forgot to mention…. When redoing the roof, I found these little fellas…..

So dang cute. They are back with their mama now. I consulted with a raccoon rehab specialist who told me that if I put them in a box “close” to where they were found, the mother would come back for them… and she did !

Looks amazing. I'm taking notes for when I get the chance to upgrade from a bench in the garage.

Did you get the electrical sorted? Had a place that had a panel that looked a bit like that, maybe worse. It was a relief to replace it.

Yeah, we ran three circuits to the shop, 20 amps each. One for the lights and ceiling receptacles, one that covers two walls of equipment, and one that covers the other two walls. I talked a little about it in an earlier post.

The old panel was just super sketchy… now I have good clean power, and plenty of it !

That's a terrific idea...totally fits what you are doing in your new shop!! And, indeed, gives you inspiration. The skill required to use planes, in particular, has always fascinated me.

Blade angle suggests it's one of the scraping-plane family. Or a high-angle smoother, or toothing plane perhaps.

I didn’t feel well enough to do any work on the shop today, but I did do a little project just to make me feel like I’m making progress…

I made this flame maple joiners mallet today. It’s kind of a test run, I think I might make one for my father for Christmas…

I haven’t finished this yet…, it’s a “inspiration reference process” mockup. This will be stained and then mounted on the backside of my woodworking bench. It’s in the middle of my shop, so the hand tools will be the first thing you see when you walk through the shop door
I’m keeping the display mount simple so that the tools themselves are the “star of the show”.
