Hi! Getting back into bass after about 20 years away from it. I was always a guitar player until (incoming cliché) a mate needed a bass player for his band, and we ended up being fairly successful until life got in the way. I've bought myself a G&L L2500 and had it set up, the bass I played in the old band was a 5 string Westfield so 5 string is all I really know. Looking for a decent amp as well and I'm gravitating towards Ashdown, I used a MAG previously and it did brilliantly, especially with the sub-harmonizer which really helped fill out the sound as we were a 3 piece. I'm very much a classic/heavy rock and metal player, but also with some weird leftfield stuff thrown in like Pekka Pohjola (blame my DJ Shadow obsession and tracking down every song he sampled). Looking forward to absorbing a lot of information from everyone here and learning this brilliant instrument again.

You were literally only a couple of miles from me when you were at Hillsborough, I often walk the dog around the forest park there!

Aaron, what’s interesting is that 5 or 6 years ago, through a friend, I ‘met’ a guy online from Ballynahinch with the exact same name as me. It was kind of funny that we had the same name. Turns out we had a lot of common interests and became friends. We’ve been connected on Facebook and Instagram for years. His home is 8 miles from Hillsborough. We actually connected and met after the tour. We got to hang out and talk for about 1/2 hour. He even brought me a bag of Taytos for the trip. Can’t get those in the US. It was a very cool, small-world experience.
