I'm living in Turkey's south city it named Mersin(Myrtle). I like to play a lot of genres like funk, jazz, rock, R&B, fusion but not to much turkish musical style (I having trouble with that with my country) so I want to hear that who share similiar musical/bassical influencies with me. Merhaba! Biraz Türkçe konushoyurum!! Türkiye çok seviyorum!! (I really LOVE Turkey!) Welcome aboard from Sunny Arizona!! My wife and I visited your beautiful country twice!! I even learned to make my own lahmacun!!! You will find many answers to your questions here- A few questions from me! What kind of bass do you play? Amplifier? Do you play with others in a band?? Please post pics if you can! Güle güle!! (Goodbye!!)
Merhaba (Hello), Let me guess, you visited Istanbul, Antalya or Capadochia? Lahmacun is one of my favorite food by the way. Turkish pizza I'm actually six string player.I played a lot gig as a third member of a trio (Keyb, drum and bass). and six string bass allowed to play chord parts of the songs. But before all that I'm playing six string because of Les Claypool and John Myung. But these days I play 4 and 5 string. Because my last band had a lot of members (2 sax, electric guitar, drums, percussion, keyboard). But we were a wedding band. I have Gallien Krueger MB Fusion 800 head. SWR Goliath JR III, Aguilar DB115 and Yamaha BBT110s(I use this cab for rehearsal, small gig and mostly at home) My Bass family; Warwick Streamer Jazzman 4, Cort A6, Cort GB75, Takamine EGB2S acoustic bass, Maison WB845C fretless acoustic bass. and I just start to working on upright bass. See you'
Çok güzel! (Very Nice!!) That’s quite a few things to play with there!! Yes, Istanbul, Cappaddocia, Troy, but also Gelibolu (Gallipoli), the Asklepion in Bergama, Pammakule, Ankara (we loved the Attatürk mausoleum) and Efes (Ephesus). My wife and I would love to get back there! Would plan on Gaziantep (Urfa) and maybe Adana as well. And more Efes beer and Rakı So much to see, so little money!! (And time ) keep on posting- Carl (love the “wedding band” photo
