High End Bass Recommendation

If your limit is $4000, some of these sugestions are eliminated or limited.

Also, consider a Lakland 55-94 which is under $4000 and considered by many to have the best B string on the planet.

When you're spending that kind of coin, they should all be good to play. But you can really buy some personality, tone and style.

Find what suits you. If it was me, it would be an F-Bass, but I'm not you and I have no idea of your taste.

It might be a crap shoot, but you'll only lose if you buy to someone else's taste, not your own.

I only owned two of what I consider high end basses and I will recommend them, Keith Roscoe and Micheal Tobias (MTD).

So what are you looking for in a bass? 34" or 35"? Neck through or bolt on?
There are many great makers. I buy used as I can get more bass for the buck.
Have you considered Warrior?

I just spent 1/2 hour looking through the site and watching the videos. +1 on the cool basses and that 14-year-old girl's playing is pretty amazing.

There is a difference between paying too much for what you're getting and a high end instrument.

So, why wouldn't you buy a Spector or Warwick?

Well the spector eruro 4xl and rebob that i tried just feel uncomfortable to me, and warwick just dont excite me much. To me warwick is like the pretty girl in the class that somehow just doesnt attract you. haha

I either own or have owned these brands. They have many differences, and it would be silly for me to say one would be better than another for you. You need to play as many custom basses as you can and make your decision based on your own experience.

Elrick and Dingwall are others that I have played but have not owned. Fine basses, all.

I dont think fodera, warwick, and spector are improved fender. at least warwick n spector should never be called improved fender imho.

what I meant by improved fender is alleva coppollo, shadowsky, lakland, etc, etc, not that I hate them but I just want to have something unique and different haha.

I think I also need point out than I am playing 5 with a high c, that's why I am not looking at dingwall. I have thought of purchasing the afterburner but than I realised I am not a bstring player. Haha.
