Double Bass High Pass Filter questions

I'm looking at using a High Pass Filter, HPF, to fight feedback. I play in a loud rockabilly band and I have the K&K pre Rockabilly set up. I looked at this page which I believe is F-Deck.

So I basically want to know if having the volume control on the HPF from F-Deck is useful/necessary when in conjunction with the K&K preamp.

It's not needed, but since the fdecks without a volume knob are plastic, I'd step up to the metal bodied 2M just because it's more rugged. It also has an LED to indicate the battery is good. The actual HPF circuits are the same in both.

The volume control might be redundant if you are also running a dual channel unit to blend two pickups.
I would still recommend the next better unit for the tougher construction and the battery light.
If you ever find yourself using just one pickup, IME the volume control is absolutely worth the slight extra cost.
I wound up upgrading from the basic model, would 100% go with the Series 2M from now on.

I’ve used both versions with and without the volume control. Both are great. I found that the series 1 FDeck pre best for me when dual locked to the back of the amp and wired into the FX loop. That left only two knobs to worry about: the setting on the HPF, and the master volume. Less attention on futzing with knobs led to more attention on making music.
