Highly Under-rated Basses

Under-rated? Well...i never hear much about my Hamer Velocity II....but i LOVE that thing. I'm sure it would benefit from a REALLY solid preamp....but its current active setup does sit nice in a live mix. Havent put it on tape yet. Killer feel. Real tight. Solid all the way up...

For me the most underrated basses from that area were and still are Tokai.

I got one of those, in sparkle orange too. It's a brilliant, very underrated basses. It sort of seems that squier gets all the hype (and they do deserve to be hyped) for the VM and CV series, but people are definately forgetting these jewels. Best about the BB414 is defintaly how it records DI. Seriously, even the always so easy J bass is more tricky to get right. Every time I record with my BB I'm floored how it just plain works.

I think peavey grind series is also very underrated. I don't love the pickups, but they're good for the money. And it's a great platform to improve on. I just heard one with nordstrand fat stacks on it and my god do I have gas for the 6 string version now.

And peavey TL series is another total beast.

i agree there as well....construction is top notch....but the pups are a little weak.....i never got around to modding mine...but i will someday...lol
