Highway One vs. American Standard

It's always been my understanding that the Highway One is the American Standard but with a lower cost finish that doesn't require the labor intensive high gloss polishing of the Standards. Spec-wise, I think they're the same.

NOPE!

There are a bunch of differences.

different tuners
different bridge
No string through option on H1's
different tone circut
possibly different pickups, but I could be wrong there.
Different logos
as well as the differnt finish.

Not positive one the newest models, but the older ones had different bodies with more than 3 pieces of alder where the American Series/American Standards are almost always 3 piece on the Alder versions.

The older model (pre 2006 upgrade version) also used a different neck.
