You got it! That it MAY be worth $1000 is being very gracious & depending if he REALLY knows what he doing. Personally I wouldn't pay anymore than a decent MIJ; about $650 max. But watch....someone may buy it THINKING that they have some type of original or Heaven knows what.
However I would be willing to suggest that it WON'T be sold.
My thinking is that at that price the buyer either knows or is researching what's real and what's a BS Parts Bass.
I'd pay that for it if he had the original 1961 neck SCREWS, but just the plate??? Nah. Pass. The screws are where the vintage tone is.
I like how he put four screws in the neck so it doesn't fall off. I mean he held it by the neck, and the body didn't fall off. Now that's a feature!
I sent him a question...
"The description says "unplayed"...What where you doing to it in the video?"
If that is a Highway One neck then that thing is worth less than an American Std...

"you are looking at an authentic American USA made Alder two piece three color sunburst 1962 RI purchased from a very RELIABLE source here on eBay, as well as the brand new never used maple/rosewood neck which is the new US serial number P bass authentic USA Fender, along with all Re issue parts brand new, like the pups and the cts pots... that's my price.. if you don't like it, you can buy something else on ebay... this is a little pricy because of the parts and prices... you won't find a nicer and greater sounding P bass then this on... What is ment by unplayed, and everyone in the music world knows this, is that is wasn't bought, taken home and used in a band, ever.. if you go into GC, doesn't everyone try the guitars out, they are still sold as unplayed... now, I thank you for bringing my you tube numbers up on this bass, not necessary.. So if you don't like my auctions and you think I'm pricy, there are allot of fender basses on eBay to choose from... but you won't find a hand built beauty like this one.. I picked each part and they cost too... So if I steal it from the store, store it in my car, and never play with a band with it I can consider it new FOREVER????
