"...so if you don't like my auctions and you think I'm pricy, there are allot of fender basses on eBay to choose from...but you won't find a hand built beauty like this one.. I picked each part and they cost too...

"What is ment by unplayed, and everyone in the music world knows this, is that is wasn't bought, taken home and used in a band, ever...if you go into GC, doesn't everyone try the guitars out, they are still sold as unplayed...
The fact that he dropped a $1000 says a great deal. He didn't put any time into it; he didn't hunt any parts. he stamped a Japanese neck-plate and found parts as they arose. It's not even worth $900. It's essentially a Japanese Fender & should sell at that level ($6-700). But the guy is seriously flaky; I wouldn't buy from him in any case for $400 as I couldn't play the instrument prior to purchase & he pitches the item too much...... It would be somewhat entertaining to have a dozen people make very small offers but I bet that's what will happen anyway. And one poor SOB will actually pay $1000 and then find a problem unmentioned in the gent's dialog like the neck's a touch off center (woooo....).
That is HILARIOUS!BillJarrett said:I didn't know Karl Rove played bass.
I'd pay that for it if he had the original 1961 neck SCREWS, but just the plate??? Nah. Pass. The screws are where the vintage tone is.
