Hipshot Bridges for my Fender

Anyone have any experience with these? Any pros/cons that you'd like to share?

Vintage style = 4 stg Vintage Bass Bridge Chrome > Store > Hipshot Products
A style with Fender mount = 4 string A Style w/Fender Mount > Store > Hipshot Products
B style with Fender mount = 4 String B Style w/Fender Mount > Store > Hipshot Products

I have a 4 string Fender Aerodyne Jazz that I'm about to tune to BEAD. All of those will drop right into place either using 3 or 5 screws. They are all top mount/quick release. The problem is I keep changing my mind about which one I want so I figured I'd see if anyone can sway me towards one of the three.

I never quite understood why they use those saddle rollers on the A bridge, because when you instal the strings and tune them up the rollers rotate along with them and voila, your string spacing will change.

Bad design if you ask me.

I put a Hipshot Style A on my Aerodyne, it does drop right in if you get the correct # of screws (I forgot and I don't have my bass in front of me). It's alot better than the bridge that came on the bass, POS as far as I'm concerned. Here's a pic.

Hipshot makes great products and they are extremely helpful if you call. I'm very impressed with them.

That said, I've never had a problem with a Fender bridge so I've never needed to change one. I did rebuild a used bass that had no no bridge, and I used an old Guild bridge that I got on Ebay...and it's very nice:

It's somewhat similar to the Hipshot A style, so if I were motivated to change, I'd choose the A style.

Thanks for all the responses, folks.

Are you A/B-style users using the Brass version or the Aluminum version? Anyone have any thoughts on the Vintage style in Brass vs the A-style in Aluminum?

RoboChrist, are you saying that the saddles are moving on their own, after set up is already complete?

No worries. I'm glad to hear a confirmation that it drops right into place unmodified.

You are suppose to tighten the set screw.

They are my favorite bridge.
