That was totally legal. I suppose you could call it charging, but nothing the defenseman did before he annihilated the winger could be considered charging. Defenseman didn't even take any steps in the players direction. I would blame the forward for not keeping his head up after he passed the puck, or taking any precautions to protect himself. He must be a rookie.
